The Review

Not your grandma’s Christmas movie. This Netflix original is littered with R-rated humor.  The Holidate plan is formed by two singles one Sloane (Emma Roberts) who’s tired of her family’s attempts at setting her up and the other Jackson (Luke Bracey) who is tired of the high expectations of the women he happens to be dating on the holidays.

Kristin Chenowith, Sloane’s aunt, introduces her to the concept. The aunt is prone to bring randos to every family gathering (including a mall santa). The plot is still traditional even though it dips in the Kevin Smith dialogue pool.  This is for people who steer clear from Hallmark movies around this time of year.
