As their own mothers drop in unexpectedly, our three under-appreciated and over-burdened moms rebel against the challenges and expectations of the Super Bowl for mothers: Christmas.

Fun Facts:
– Kathryn Hahn wrote a personal letter to Susan Sarandon asking her to play her mother in the film.

– On the ballerinas outside of Amy’s house you can see Mila Kunis’ face, which is funny because she was in Black Swan.

Review

So one of Hollywood’s 101 rules is when making sequels you must take everything up a notch.

How do you do that with a raunchy comedy about young mothers? Bring in their mom’s of course. And set it during the hell week that is Christmas. One of my favorite SNL sketches was when Martha Stewart (Ana Gasteyer) was visited by her mother (Joan Allen). I believe her line was something like “Well, that’s One way of doing it I suppose.” https://youtu.be/0eUEwoxUM88

So we have three special types of neuroses in each of the moms. There’s the uptight perfectionist (Christne Baranski), The party mom who excels at abandonment (Susan Sarandon), and the opposite: the clingy obsessive (Cheryl Hines).

All the things that made the first movie great are back. But the holiday gifts or should I say stocking stuffers you get this go round are the santa stripper (Justin Hartley) and yes Kenny G.

Not a movie to be watched in mixed company, but a bawdy indulgence.
